Vaccine Requirements

Dear Families,
As we prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, we want to remind you in advance of Washington State’s vaccine requirements for school attendance (RCW 28A.210.120.). In accordance with state law, all students must have one of the following on file with the school district before the first day of school:

1. Up-to-date immunization records verified through the Washington State Immunization Information System (WAIIS) or equivalent,
OR
2. A valid and signed Certificate of Exemption for the required vaccines.
If the above documentation is not received on or before the first day of school, by law we must provide you with a Notice of Exclusion for Immunization Noncompliance. This notice will explain that your child cannot attend school until you provide the required immunization documentation.

These requirements are in place to help protect all students and staff and to reduce the risk of preventable disease outbreaks in our schools and community. Families are encouraged to review their child’s immunization status and take action during the summer to avoid any delays in starting school. You can access your Family’s Immunization Information by visiting WA State DOH myIR and following the instructions on how to register.

If you have questions about your student’s immunization record or exemption status, please contact your healthcare provider and/or Grant County Health District. MLSD school nurses will return to work August 12, 2026.

Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe and healthy for everyone.

Credit/Debit Card Payments

Dear MLSD Families,
We want to make you aware of an upcoming change when making payments to Moses Lake School District using a credit or debit card.

Beginning September 2, 2026, transaction fees will apply to credit and debit card purchases made through the district’s payment system. Families can expect a 3%–5% processing fee charged by the card processing vendor, plus up to $0.40 per transaction to help cover costs associated with the district’s payment system.
Because the vendor processing fee is percentage-based, the total fee will vary depending on the purchase amount and transaction. These fees are separate from the cost of the item, activity, registration or other district purchase and do not change the district’s price for those items.

Families will be able to see the applicable transaction fees and total amount before completing their payment.

This change also reflects our continued commitment to responsible stewardship of public resources. As a public school district, we have a responsibility to carefully manage the dollars entrusted to us by our community and look for opportunities to ensure those resources remain focused on supporting our students, schools and educational programs. Accounting for the costs associated with individual card transactions is one small part of that larger commitment.

We understand that additional costs matter to families, and we want to provide advance notice and be transparent about this change. Credit and debit cards remain a convenient payment option, and this structure allows the district to continue offering that option while addressing the costs associated with card transactions.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have questions about payment options, please contact your school office.
